Art is something that is viewed differently by each one of us. We could all look at the same painting and have million different interpretations. It affects us subconsciously in more ways than we can imagine, to such an extent that it has become a medium to cure many health related issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia and stress related disorders, caused by competition, performance, work, family or love and so on.
It is a known fact that art influences our subconscious. In a world, where 95% of our lives and actions are determined by our subconscious, art is a beautiful necessity, whether we are trying to heal ourselves or delving deep within, to find inspiration.
I am a student of performing arts and I remember when I joined my first classical dance class in 2020, at the age of 48, digging in deep to revive my childhood love for Indian classical dance, I dove deep into the art of dance and learnt to be in the moment with the flow of beats. Little did I know, at that time, that I was practicing mindfulness and creating a deeper connection with myself. The power of art and the influence that it can have on the mind is infinite, and can influence you positively and create an optimistic outlook.
Last year, it was published in the journal of cognitive neurosciences, how viewing an appealing art creates gamma brain waves, associated with higher levels of consciousness. When you no longer identify with your body, mind and environment, you experience consciousness. As per, ‘Joe Dispenza’, consciousness changes the brain and brain waves therein. You can experience this in terms of being less frustrated, less impatient and less judgmental. This, in turn, regulates your heart chakra, to create an undisturbed magnetic field of 3 meters. This further, allows you to elevate yourself to a higher version of you. Again, this helps you gain self-mastery wherein when you walk into the room, you raise the energy of everyone present, rather than lowering yours. That becomes one sure way to achieve higher energy levels wherein you influence others positively with your ‘being’, rather than with mental gimmicks and verbal grandiose.
To sum up, art is not for a chosen few or for the connoisseurs only. Art is for everyone, who seeks inspiration, is looking at connecting with one’s inner self or for someone who is in need of healing. So do go ahead and take time out from your mundane routine, engage the right hemisphere of your brain and get ready to bring in some magic, mindfulness and magnificence in your lives.
